As we approach the end of another extraordinarily busy and successful year for the ESTnet, I would like to offer my sincere thanks to all who have contributed so much to the ESTnet over the last 12 months.
Everything we do as the ESTnet aims to support our members by helping them to grow their business. 2015 was a year where we implemented some exciting new initiatives and strengthened current activities to achieve this aim.
The ESTnet Awards 2015 ceremony was certainly a highlight for all present, while the ESTnet Awards 2016, at the Wales Millennium Centre on 2 March promises to be another excellent evening. Our panel of judges are currently sifting through another record number of entries, we look forward to seeing you on the night to celebrate with the winners and finalists.
Other highlights included an expanded Wales Festival of Innovation, which will take place again in 2016, another fantastic SkillsCymru where over 7000 young people were given the opportunity to learn about a career in the technology industry, and the new Undergraduate Year in Industry in partnership with the Welsh Government, University of South Wales and Cardiff University.
A common thread running through all of the above was the drive and commitment shown by the ESTnet members involved. Those who get the most out of the ESTnet are those who put the most in. I would like to especially thank members who have recruited undergraduates, hosted an event as part of the Festival of Innovation and given their time and expertise to make SkillsCymru such an inspirational experience for young people.
I would also like to thank the hundreds of companies who took part in the ICT Sector Impact research project. I look forward to sharing the results with you in early 2016 and more importantly working with you all to implement those results for the benefit of our industry and the wider economy in Wales.
I look forward to meeting you in the first few months of 2016, whether it be at our first Business Networking Event of the year on 18 January, our Graduate Recruitment Fair on 17 February at Cardiff and Vale College, or the ESTnet Awards at the Millennium Centre on 2 March.
In the meantime I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year from all at the ESTnet.
