MI announces opening of its first supply chain coordination representation office in Wales, working with Cydweithio Ltd.

Following the visit and tour of Machinists, Inc.’s (MI’s) facilities in Seattle by senior Welsh Government officials earlier in October MI is pleased to announce the opening of their UK representation office in the Welsh capital city of Cardiff, at the beginning of November within the new Trade Street offices of ESTnet member Cydweithio Ltd., MI’s Welsh software & electronics supply chain lead.

This is the next step in the active assessment by MI over the last two years in developing an understanding of the Welsh aerospace and defense landscape to pinpoint where MI’s expertise and supply leadership can impact the Welsh economy going forward. This has included developing direct relationships within a number of Welsh Universities through the Wales Academic Space Partnership.

The aerospace industry is a priority sector for Wales and a centre of excellence for aerospace manufacturing and Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) related activities. The industry plays home to over 160 companies who are active in the sector including GE Aviation and Airbus, and collectively the sector in Wales employs in excess of 20,000 people.
