The technology industry in Wales gathered at the SWALEC Stadium in Cardiff to hear more about the impact of the fourth industrial revolution and how it can help their business.
Speakers from Siemens Automation, the MTC Catapult, Innovate UK, and the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) delivered some fascinating talks on the groundbreaking benefits and gains to be had from Industry 4.0
Alan Norbury, Central Technology Officer for Siemens Automation spoke of how Siemens have embraced this new technology and what it has meant for their business including a productivity increase of over 20%.
Lina Huertas, Head of Manufacturing from The Manufacturing Technology Centre Catapult (MTC) continued along the same theme, and the opportunities it brings to improve product quality, increase efficiency and health of manufacturing equipment, Lina finished by inviting Welsh companies to visit the MTC premises in Coventry and talk about company requirements. Andy Sellars, Lead Technologist, Manufacturing, Innovate UK, focused on the support available, particularly for innovative projects to accelerate their business, while and Nigel Rix, Head of Electronic Systems at the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) spoke of how the KTN can help to ‘bring together’ the UK’s innovation network.
