Aerospace Wales - Operations Manager

Job Description - The Role

The Aerospace Wales Forum was established in March 2002 as a member based industry representative organisation.  The company is now part of Industry Wales which also includes the Welsh Automotive Forum and ESTnet. These organisations are funded by the Welsh Government and the Forum has a responsibility to provide specialist advice to the Advanced Materials & Manufacturing sector team within the Welsh Government.

The Forum now wishes to appoint an Operations Manager with responsibility for delivery of key services and the maintenance of support systems. 



Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Executive the Operations Manager will be responsible for:

  • The development and delivery of Forum services to members
  • The development and maintenance of formal procedures and systems.
  • Recruitment of appropriate support staff.
  • Liaison with existing members and recruitment of new members.
  • Provision of specialist knowledge to key stakeholders
  • Management of key events, including the Forum’s participation in trade shows.
  • Development of new commercial and funding opportunities.

The Forum is therefore searching for an outstanding individual possessing a number of the following characteristics:

  • Experience of the aerospace, defence & space sectors.
  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Successful track record in industry, the public sector or academia.
  • Managerial & entrepreneurial flair with knowledge of best practice.
  • Diplomatic and communications skills.
  • Knowledge of government agencies and funding processes.
