Job Description - The Role
  • Department: Engineering     
  • Grade: £23,000 – £25,500 dependant on experience
  • Contract:Permanent
  • Hours of work: 39 hours per week

As a division of Sony Europe Limited, Sony UK Technology Centre is the only manufacturing Centre for Sony in Europe and also provides contracting manufacturing solutions for other businesses. We are also the home of a Sony Customer Service Centre, a Business Incubation Centre, a high-profile film studio and much more. The heart of today’s operation in Pencoed is focused on the manufacturing of high technology broadcast and professional cameras and systems for worldwide markets. This also includes the latest industry-leading 4K technology. Cameras and equipment produced in Pencoed can be found in sports stadiums, studios and outside broadcast units around the world.  



Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and integration of existing IT system
  • Contribute to development of IT strategy for the long term.
  • Work closely with manufacturing departments to identify opportunities.
  • Create, test and optimize software for the collection, analysis and communication of data.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Candidates with a suitable Engineering or Science degree are invited to apply for a position within a multi-disciplinary manufacturing facility, focusing on manufacturing IT system development, data management and data analysis. Candidates should demonstrate imagination, innovation, creativity and have a genuine love of new technologies. A desire for further technical and professional advancement would be considered favorably. The post will involve working within an Engineering team in a challenging and varied environment working on cutting edge technologies. The opportunity for international travel is also available.

    • Small Board Computers (Arduino, Raspberry PI etc)
  • Ability to support operations flexibly where required. (Desirable)
  • Experience working in an Agile Software development environment. (Desirable)
  • Experience working in an Agile Software development environment. (Desirable)
